What we do

Break Forth provides tailored support to people experiencing mental health problems.
Funded either privately or through a personal budget or Direct Payments, we will create a support package which is as individual as the service user themselves.

With goal or recovery focused outcomes, our person-centered approach means we’ll find the best way of supporting you to manage your mental health.

We’ll help you to identify the barriers to your leading the life you want to lead, and then we’ll develop a plan with you to overcome those barriers.

You might work full time, but struggle to use public transport, or you might find it easy to leave the house, but impossible to enter a shop. You might be able to keep a clean and tidy home, but struggle to maintain your own hygiene or nutrition. You might be a whizz on Facebook, but avoid speaking to people in real life. We will listen to you to understand what you want to achieve and will not impose what we think you should aim for. We won’t just focus on the areas you find difficult, but will also look at the positives that you have, some of which you may not be aware of. By highlighting the things you can already achieve, we can transfer the skills you already use to help you build skills and confidence in other areas. We will also help you identify and build new skills in areas where you may lack necessary skills or may not possess transferable skills.
For some people it will be difficult to achieve almost any activity, for whatever reason. It could be that you’ve never lived independently before, or it could be that an event in the past means you now can’t use the library or the gym or the local shop. It could even be that you lack motivation to do anything or have lost self confidence or lack self-esteem. By working towards small and manageable goals, recovery or increased independence can become easier to achieve.

Break Forth will support you to create an action plan around your goals, and will then work with you to achieve them step by step. By breaking your goals down into small and achievable steps, we’ll help you to overcome the barriers in your way.

And if you struggle one day more than another, or if you feel like you’ve had some sort of setback, we’ll be there supporting you – every step of the way.
